Has anyone used DupliColor's Chrome paint? If so, on what parts and is it worth the time and effort? Thanks.

Never used it but I can gaurantee that if you are going into it expecting it to be anything like chrome (or look good) you will be very dissapointed.

Yea it gets chrome...When you first spray it.... Don't put clear on it and then it becomes a dull silver. So its kinda pointless

I did the purple chrome on the plastic radio cover inside my previous cavalier. Took a ton of work and did not come out chrome in apprerance but gave me the color I was looking for. Litereally took a ton of very light coats, alot of clear and a ton more of wet sanding to bring the shine out. If your using this on the interior, then I would be prepared to redo it a few times since this stuff is pretty hard to work with. But once finished, if you dont care about the chome look, the color will be a nice deep color. Thats IMO. I also know they arent ment for plastic, but I did it anyways, and once it was finished, it was very nice.

i had a piece done by a 'professional' that does just the chrome color for side work etc but does it professionally and was honestly dis-pleased. it looks ok but i knew instantly it wasnt chrome and that i did not want.

he had a lot of orange peel in the clear coat so i took it to a body shop for buffing and they blew right through the clear and it was junk thereafter.

Thanks for the feedback. I have definitely changed my mind about using it. I was planning on doing some things both in and outside of the car. I guess its back to the drawing board. I plan on painting/tinting the center bar and tails. I think a bright silver bow tie would set the back-end off nicely. Any ideas on what I can do instead of using the chrome stuff.

I know I was looking for some way to make it shine an/or stand out more.

The duplicolor Silver wheel coating is a best silver i know of, it has some silver flakes in it and if cleared good looks great.
