kinda stuck on exterior stuff....
Saturday, January 15, 2011 7:41 AM
i have an '03 cavy 2 door base model...blue but not a concern at this point I'm stuck in the following areas......
front bumper- want something with fog light holes but not ricey...fiberglass or urethane
rear bumper...think of just filling in the Chevy part and leaving stock but not sure of other options
hood..would like a c/f or fiberglass one but stock looking
trunk...would like to do a complete shave of lights and holes...no wing....but wondering if you can get a c/f or fiberglass that is already like that
i am gonna shave the doors and everything else ( badges, trim, etc.. ) but would like to change out the side mirrors to something else, maybe
working on wheels but not sure if stock Z wheels or what....

just having a hard time deciding......may be doing a '03+ Sunfire dash swap, steering wheel swap, seats, motor work but that's for another section........ideas would be greatly appreciated and I'm not getting a different car unless i find and older Sunfire GT 5 speed or cavy in great shape for trade..was thinking that too because i miss my Sunfire......confused.....i have trolled the threads but not too much threw a spark for me.....thanks for the help in advance....

Replace the base bumpers with the LSS bumpers & skirts.

And go from there.

jess, your pics are full of fail.

I agree go lss (or extreme tuner), hoods are your call. I have seen trunks with shaved key holes, but not shaved lights too. Check out the group purchase forum, OEM is doing some custom c/f pieces, and that might be something he could hook up.

Mirrors, your options are limited. The e-bay M3 mirrors stick out at a funny angle, APC M3 mirrors fit right, but arent made any more (i have some if interested), Toyo mirrors are different, but expensive, and I dont know if Bomex still makes j-mirrors or not.

If you are trying to "fill in" the chevy on the back bumper........and you are thinking about a CF trunk, perhaps you should (again, talk to Mark @ OEM) think about a CF bumper insert for the middle section of the rear bumper.

Weird they work for me, lol. (Just a stock classic 03-05 LSS from the front & rear).

I used to have a fiberglass shaved trunk, no inner tails or keyhole... but the fitment was junk.

I have head of the fiberglass trunks and the bad fitment but still open... Thought about just getting a base model trunk and doing it but my welding is less than stellar.....I like the LSS skirts and and bumpers but still looks like what I have... Has anyone opened up the mouth on one of these yet ?... Would love to see what it looks like... Even thought about getting a fiberglass lip from somewhere and fitting it to the bumper... Stretching and rebuilding but may not be cost effective...
Never seen a c/f section for the bumper yet.... I'm gonna check out the group buy forum and see what's up there too
Thanks for the replys so far, keep'em coming!!!
