well, i did it, i went out and bought it...2005 chevrolet cavalier....5spd manual...base model, but i didnt want any power options. red, of course! it will be delivered tomarrow to my local dealership....should be quite a change from my lil 2.2 3spd even though it is fixed up....now, it will be hard not to mod the new car till warranty is up!
and, the redrocket was not traded in, i couldnt do that...it's staying in the family, going as is with the modifications to my sister
time to start from scratch! ill post pics tomarrow if i can

Congratulations!
Did they have to do a dealer trade to get it?
yup, heheheheh....they had to trade a fast moving vehicle to get it too, lol, cause i wanted THAT car, and the dealership here in town wanted the sale, so they traded some truck that normally sells through really fast after 1 hour of haggling, lmao!

Grats man! You can mod the car with a warranty, I did. You just have to be careful about what you mod is all.
Good luck with the new car!

nice base .... lol .... came with the rims > not bad .... i bought an 03 .. i was lucky ... enough to get the last of the 03 base .... and it came with a sport suspension package and 16 inch alloys ... but anyway nice start .. feel a difference yet >?
Those wheels look like they came from a early 2000's Z24
yup, those are the 99 LS rims that i bought for my 97 cavy
they have Dunlop SP Sport A2's on em, 205 60 r15s
Anyway, next is LS side skirts, rear carbon fiber bezel, borla muffler, intake, strut tower brace, and of course getting all my stereo stuff in it, as well as a new alarm
so, thats the plan, gonna spend my tax return on the goodies, that way i still have lotsa cash in savings and in checking.
after that, gonna double and triple the car payments to get it paid off sooner

Nice. I have a 2005 1SV in orange. Im getting cruise installed on monday. Really the only option I wanted. To me its worth $325 aftermarket, to save gas and lead foot on the highway.

nice man have fun with it....
Sorry to waste space, but I wanted to make sure this worked before I took the time to type it all up.
Once again...sorry, but about on hour ago it said I had no posts left.
Anyway...on to my few questions. I'm looking at a base 03 in silver with 22,909 miles. They have a deal where you get at least $4,250 for your trade in and that's why I am looking. First thing is that they threw a whole bunch of junk "options" on there list.
If someone could tell me which are real and which are bogus:
A/C
Guage Cluster
Tach
Rear Defroster
Carpeting
Bucket Seats
Delux Wheel Covers (I'll get a pic of it)
AM/FM Radio w/ Cassette
Center Arm Rest w/ Storage
Power Steering
Clock
Tinted Glass
Remote Trunk Release
Day/Light Lever (Huh?)
Reclining Seats
Inside Hood Release
Dual Air Bags
Power Brakes
Trip Odometer
Interval Wipers
Console
Dual Sport Mirrors
Cloth Upolstery
Driver Side Power Mirror
Beverage Holders
As of now these are the prices for the car that I have found out:
Dealer Price: $12,388
Sale Price: $8,138
KBB Price: 8,995
For the KBB Price I used the options below:
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Tilt Wheel <--- Assumption
AM/FM Stereo w/ Cassette
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-wheel) <---Assumption
Any input would be greatlly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
BTW...Sorry, didn't mean to jack your post.
Here is the link to the car that I refered too. As you can see I messed up, there is no cassette player.
Well...I tried it today and liked it. They were going to take 1,000 off because they were looking to get rid of it. Plus they were going to give me another 1,000 for my car...not bad since its a '96 with 112k miles. That would have made the price minus tax and such $6,138.
To bad for him he was pushy so I went over to the actual Chevy dealer and was told they could get me an '03 for about the same price and around the same milage. So it looks as though I'm gonna trade the Fire in when I get my tax return.
