WinksOnline, Winks Customs, Vertical Doors Direct soon to be closed..
Yep, its that time, Winksonline will officially close its "Internet" doors this Friday August 19th. All orders placed before this time will be filled.
Why sell? Three years ago Winks started as a small project since I wasnt really working while in college trying to get my business/marketing degree. Soon it grew to become a pretty big name in the aftermarket parts world and even bigger in the jbody specific market. So you know, with such success, at the time I felt there wasnt a need for that fegree anymore. So I quit going to my classes to keep up with Winks and make the most money possible. Soon after I made a few bad deals and took a big loss, then everything I had worked for the last 3 years basicly got stolen out of my shop one night.. Paint guns, alot of Diamond Plate Stock, everything was either stolen or trashed by some local scum.. I hope to get the business going with it's new owner, then finish up my degree in the spring.
So www.winksonline.com is forsale, In addition comes www.verticaldoorsdirect.com.. Why would you want to take over the website and the duties, especially knowing how you took a big "loss" as stated above? Well, my loss was from the whole vertical door thing, im sure we all know the situation.. Basicly I got greedy and wanted it all and tried to bite off more than I could handle.. Up untill that point I really enjoyed what I did and wouldnt wish for anything else.. My job was everything i loved. Graphic design, marketing, and best of all SURFING THE .ORG..
There is nothing hard about taking orders and calling your supplier and getting the part sent out.. Pretty much Everything on my website has a 50-200$ profit range.. Not to sound like one of those SBC commercials but there is really no limit to what you can do.

On with something a little more personal.. The car has been sold. I'm sure some of you remember it, the baby blue one with the ragtop, etc.. Yea sold it to a kid about an hour away from here about a month ago. Seen it once since... Poor car is already torn up.
So even tho I have sold the car, the jbody.org addiction is still here..
I love all you guys and this is my "home" on the internet. Dave has done the best thing for the community and is the reason for all of this. If it wasnt for him we would be stuck at rinky dink sites like clubcav.com... ha ha
Made some good friends here, always awsome to go to a show and get people come up to you introducing themselfs b/c they know who YOU are.. Also a real good feeling when your just spectating at a show and see YOUR companies logo on cars youve never even seen before.. Thanks guys for all the support for the last few years..

good luck with the degree chris. i start back next week and should have two degrees by spring. so in the end it will be worth it, even if its a hard decision to make. let me know if you need anything man.

that really sucks... school is a good idea, i decided after batting myself around the amture industryfor a few years i'm going to school to be a pro audio engineer, the degree is always worth the time and effort... good luck man, i hope it all works out...
