when back in 2000-2001 before i even joined....i was just a newbie visitor.......when you could come on the org and technically ask any question you wanted and people would quickly reply back, giving helpful info.....not sarcstic negative comments. man i think back when back then you had ian lacey, teske, laverty, even bob mull post whoring it up givin us visions of something beautiful. and yes back then when people scrutinized it was done with politeness.
all im saying is i love this site...the j-body.org i feel IS THE STANDARD for cavalier, sunfire enthusiest. even though by manufacturer standard ...yes the j-body is dead, but lets not kill this website. theres alot of good people on here that cares about their cars but you have some ....thats just on here to raise havoc, this post will probably get locked but if i can get people to just scope at it to read this,maybe...just maybe we can get the true j-body enthusiest back.
ClassGlass / RkSport / Eibach / Motegi / Ractive / Borla / K&N
everyones still here, they don't whore it up anymore because its old to them...they have moved on
good for them
but you do still have new enthusiasts
the problem is, when you get 28,000 people together, not all of them are going to get along, even with their common interest in a particular car. we all have different tastes and getting everyone to agree on something just isn't going to happen.
all you can really do is try to be the best that you can and if someone doesn't like what you've done, that's their choice. if someone is rude or down right insulting, ignore them and move on. this place is what you make it.
but if someone is a complete ass, you can always get ahold of Dave, myself or the other moderators and we'll take care of it.
You still had people complaining and whining back then too... just that there were less of them
even still... less of us to absorb the n00bies...
Hmmm... 00...01... I would have been a J-car n00b myself... wow.... thinking back... i didn't know ANYTHING about these cars back then.... heh...
The names may change, but JBO's the same... cars.... complainers... cars.... head gasket.... heh....
i don't think you should worry about the org going anywhere for a while.....most of the modded cars on here are not even older then 4 years....
I think the modern day equivelent of those names imO would be...NJHK, Darkstars,SAC,I Satchmoe You,BORSTY, GAM,Sizzy, of course Cannon...sorry if i left out anyone..those are just the ones that stand out to me...always livin it up here, granted that some of their comments should be kept to themselves..they keep it alive in here non the less..i just home to be up there someday
so? get used to it. those are the days of the past, and welcome to the 21st century.
lol jk.

hands out a beer...here's something to cry in
j/k i was here too, it was fun, but times change, so the way I see it, you can make the best of what you got, or dwell on the past. I'm the type that swings with the changes. Mods are becoming milder by the day and its nice to see what was outrageous then a reality now. Remember when everyone said lambo's couldn't be done on a J?
cobaltss.net is worse , the ss/sc guy think their cars are the ferrari of the cobalt kingdom
LOL
they cant even belive a 2.2 turbo cobalt with 8psi out ran a ss/sc
oh well
internet moves on

lets not start another popularity list please. there's a thousand threads on here about who's popular... we all know who they are. and as for the complaining thing said in the original post here... its not a JBO thing. ITS ALL CAR SITES. it really is. ive been on like 5 or 6 message boards. its pretty typical of all car enthusiast message boards. This one just happens to be really really big, so its more prominent. I wouldnt worry too much about it, there are still plenty of people here who would help you if you needed it. Just ignore the people that have nothing nice to say.
Wow, 28K people.... I remember when we hit the big 3,000!!! That was back when I had a first gen 85 Cavy, and the first gens were few and far between. The only ones I seem to recall are me, BadZ24, Scrufdog, and that's about it.
Anyways, if it weren't for the .org, I wouldn't have my beautiful wife, our 2 fabulous kids, my $75K a year job, and a whole lot of friends.
Oh wait, nevermind, I got mixed up. If it weren't for the .org, I WOULD have those things. DAMN YOU J-BODY.ORG!!!
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
almost at 30k now, but like 95% of that is trolls an ppl that sign up an never come here again
^^^^It's always been that way, evan at 3000 members.....only about 100 or so actually frequented the forums. the same applies to today 30,000 members and i'm sure of all thoes only about 200 or so give or take actually post on the forum. some members like red devil/hairy blackdude are the same guy with 2 "free" profiles, even Ian Lacey has 2 profiles...one for the old car and one for his current car. so i'm sure there are people with at least a half dozen "extra" profiles on here.

the only difference between who all he listed and you listed is he listed people that can be considered J-Body "pioneers" so to speak. Not everyone you mentioned even owns a J or if they do care to fix it up, but the few who do will probably be considered the same one day.
the old school members grew up so to speak. Plus since this site has been around so long the majority of questions have been answered, a couple times at that. So people tend to get a bit edgy when users don't care to search so then once again it has to be answered. It starts to get aggravating.
Then you have the people who just come around to start @!#$ to get a rise out of people. Which most people here do anyway.
ive only been around for about 2 years and i think its tolerable... like everyone else said 28,000 people just arent gonna all get along... so just make the best out of what you have
i've only been around for 3 years. i was a post-whore at one point. i've got the screen shot to prove it, lol. i usually don't spend much time on this site anymore. i just look for some interesting stuff, look in AG real quick to see if there's some good porn, then i'm gone.
i still believe this is a useful site, for new members as well as old. i've had my J for 6 years now, and i still find out new crap about it every time i'm on here. people just need to be respectful to others, and we'll keep it that way.
