hey there is a 96 sunfire gt for sale by where i live. it has 176000 miles on it but it appears to be in good shape. 5 speed, cruise control are the options. they are asking $1700 but i think that is a little to much. opinions? reliablity?
Honestly, that's kind of a deal there as it is...
NADA has the value as $1,975 for poor condition and $3,500 for Excellent
KBB has it as $1,975 for Private Party Value
Now since it is the owner selling it, you may be able to talk him down a few hundred depending on how fast the guy wants to get rid of it, and how long he's been trying to sell it... but honestly I think $1,700 is a good deal as it is.
Fair price, but the mileage is pretty high.
It's a step up from your current '96 SE, so if it is good enough shape I'd jump on it.

yea it is, specially cuz my car got hailed out this summer. the only hard thing is my car only has 65000 on it, thats almost 1/3 the miles.
high mileage. but the price seems fine
you guys would really pay that much for that car? i wouldnt give the person more than 1k for it. id offer them 800 cash
someone emailed me and told me to just swap out the engine, however im more worried bout the other parts because the engine isnt the only part that wears on a car. anyone think i should worry?
if you KNOW its all highway i would think its an alright deal but that is a (I$)( load of miles i picked up my 96 gt no options for 1100 with 104k on it
1998 Cavalier
1995 Trans Am
1984 Camaro Z28
id give 1000MAX if the body is in mint cond. engine runs great.. if it has any problems dents ect i would knock it down from there
i paid almost $2800 for a 97 sunfire gt,100k miles on it
personally, i wouldn't waste the money on it. Esp if you car is running fine. your not really getting anything IMO unless your looking for a project car, in which case your going to have to do engine work on that car if your looking to boost or pretty much anything that isn't bolt on.
I dunno. I guess i just dont see the point in this purchase.
