I can't promise you what will happen if you do that. I don't control Travis, nor do I control his friend. What I can tell you is that I personally would have no qualms about sending the money to him.
Did he tell you why he wanted it sent to his friends? Does he not have a paypal account? Can his paypal account not take certain types of payments (without being charge extra)?
