ok this is gonna sound a bit wierd but i have this 98 cavi that i just got but i dont have the key cuse it got it from a towing place. its a long story but its from a family friend. anyways i got to get the key from gm but i want to test to see how the engine runs. is there anyway to hotwire it? i have the papers it is my car but i know this just sounds weird.

go to the dealer, show proof of ownership, and the Vin, and they can make a key.

you could have gone to the dealership earlier today to get it done.

otherwise, wait till Monday morning. most parts departments open around 8AM.

I know the Chevy dealership I work at was open from 7am-5pm today, and another one nearby me was open at 8am-3pm.

exactly. if the service department is open, so is the parts department...and in MOST cases, the service department will be open on a Saturday.
