Haven't been around in a little over a year I think. I used to frequent the performance areas, drove a 89 LT2 Sunbird.

Since my last post, I moved to the next city over, blew up the sunbird (275,000 miles on that motor before both rings shattered in #1), sold the 74 Camaro, parted out the 91 Escort, and gave the 91 Laser to a buddy. Had a kid. Bought a house. Bought a 03 Focus, which my wife wrecked. Bought myself a 99 Eclipse (im in the butter zone now) and bought a 07 Focus.

Bought and installed a turbo kit on the Focus. Upped the boost. Big waste of money. $3200 and its still slow, even at 11psi. (if you have a focus, dont waste your money trying to make it fast)

Buddy of mine bought a cavalier with an ecotec in it (dont know what year, dont care) helped him do a AT>MT swap (i recall people saying it was all hard and should be avoided. it was a cake walk) and he got some supercharged ecotec out of something that we put in. It runs pretty quick. Ugly as hell with the gold spray painted body and black rims. Fartcan exhaust. Ugh.

Thats what has been going on with me.

Well, this place looks like it hasnt changed a bit.

Wonder if anybody remembers me?

i recall reading about that conversion in the past. If we did anything like that, we'd lose the ABS and traction control, it would be rear drive, and torquey as hell. If I didnt have a family that needed hauling, it might be an option. We got the focus because it is cheap and safe and gets decent mpg. Even with 6psi (where we usually keep it) we get 24mpg in the city and 34mpg on the highway if we keep the speeds around 65 (little over 2000 rpm, turbo isnt spooled). We just needed a little more passing power. Guess we should have bought the ST. too late now.

I am not really interested in Zocus's anyways. There is almost no aftermarket available for the Duratec motors, or the 06-07 in general. Oh well, daily driver. Im putting my money into the DSM, and looking to buy another one.

So, anything new and interesting in the world of J-Bodies?
When I left, the hottest thing was a 3800 v6 swap (with 3100 heads i think)
