Someone's either stupid, or false advertising.

probably both stupid and false advertising... cause the info says Engine: 4 CYLINDERS 2.4 Liters.

I guess if you buy the car you'll get the rest of the motor by mail in four to six weeks.

Probably just stupid... most people really have now freaking clue how utterly useless and brainless the vast majority of salespeople are. You would think, that like any other job, they actually do research and attend some form of training to stay on top of their game, because hell, the more they know about a car, the more they can make it look better than the competition to a customer. I have seen and heard everything from listing a Viper as having a V8, to saying that a 95 Cherokee had a V6 (maybe its nitpicking, but if you're a Jeep salesman you should know its a straight 6), all the way to the idiot who broke his hand showing a customer how the remote sliding doors on a Caravan will stop if they encounter any resistance... They do, but only while sliding. Once they reach the point where they "cinch in", there's no safety mechanism. And ALL sales people were notified of this. But this guy put his outstretched fingers in the very front edge of the door, and hit the remote... Needless to say, he lost that sale Now before someone gets butt-hurt, yes, I know, not ALL salespeople are retarded. But having worked in dealerships before and heard stories from both trainers and other techs, it seems like a large percentage are there because it was the last stop for the short bus.

On cars.com once, I found a purple minivan for sale, the vehicle type was listed as a red 1998 Firebird...

2 things i notice from this

1st: Pontiac totally got the better looking auto shift knob in the j-body deal. The Cavi's auto shifter looks cheap compared to the Sunfires. I never kenw this...oddly this is the first time i'm seeing an automatic Sunfire.

2nd: Never mess with the J-body community. LOL I love that he was pounded by people about the V6 error buy "customers" (that i'm sure were really people from here...HaHa) that were better informed than him...........a profesional car salesman. How could he make that error when he's the towns most awarded salesman and he did a carfax and a Mike Sullivan auto estimator (both listed it as 4-cyl)

Very clean Fire though, not sure it's worth $6000, but clean none the less.

When I, use to work at AutoZone, I was told by a shop tech that a 97 Eagle Talon looked alot like a 72 Chevy 1500 Pickup.

i hate the sunfire shifter, but love the console. which is why i put one in my ls sedan. Only problem i have is finding another 4 door window switch that fits that console. its a tad bit wider opening for the switches.

its a very clean sunfire none the less.

Just one question I have.
The car seems pretty clean, that's without a doubt. But something doesn't add up. It's got really low miles, a very obvious brand new top, everything about the car "seems" perfect. Except

the carpet.

It's filthy, and I mean FILTHY. If that car was professionally cleaned (as I’m sure it was) and the carpet is still that noticeably dirty in photographs something is not kosher. And the picture of the trunk reveals what appears to be a huge water stain near the trunk opening. Let’s remember digital cameras can be extremely forgiving, so for that carpet and trunk to look that dirty in pictures, I say this could be maybe a “flood damage” vehicle. Florida is infamous for taking totaled by insurance flood damaged cars and trying to sell them as “decent” used cars. I could be wrong, it’s a convertible and I know they usually get dirtier inside than normal cars. But as well maintained looking as that car looks, I find it hard to believe the meticulous last owner neglected the carpet that badly.

^^ I noticed the same thing.

I still miss my J, damn it. I want her back! Boo hoo... I'm always looking on eBay and other places for J's for sale. I'd really love to have mine back. Either a 2ed gen or 3rd gen. I just miss it.
Oh well, better get back on track with my manual swap research...

Sunfire has a lot of nicer "goodies" than over the cav.. What I noticed is, EQ on the head unit, nicer shift knob, little lights in the rear, and tweeters in the doors.. I wish I had gotten a sunfire instead of a cav.. When I had the cav that is

And sunfires came with leather wrapped steering wheels for 2003-2005. Cavaliers did not.

Alot of peopel still think J-bodys come with V6s. I get asked alot if it is a V6.

People only ask me if my Sunfire is a V6 when they havn't heard it running it's loud. Here's a good one for you. I saw a purple V6 Camaro for sale at a dealership once that had SS stickers put on it by the previous owner (replacing the RS badges). The dealership actually had the nerve to put "1998 V6 Camaro SS" on the WINDOW TAG. It took everything I had not to go into the dealership and tell them how stupid they are, let alone how illeagle it was.

There were no SS camaros w/ V6. They're just idiots, it's not misrepresenting the vehicle, it's like the Sunfire GTO's (that were actually SE's but we're not going to get into that). It's dealership dullardry.

The car comes with a carfax, and a guarantee in writing, so its probably just a dirty interior.

Im still pretty sure it's illeagle to sell a car as something it isn't. I quess they could talk there way out of it since they put V6 on the tag, but if they where selling it as just a Camaro SS (wich it wasn't), they could get themselfs into some hot water. There's way to many grey areas when it comes to these kinds of things.
