Beware of Autopartswarehouse.com

Myself and members of CSS.net are in the begining stages of filing a class action lawsuit agaisnt them for their deceptive sales tactics involving a "bait and switch" scam with prices of the products they sell.

Over 70 members were part of a group buy on LED tailights that suddenly disapeared, were all damaged, were on back order, or were out of stock. BUT if we liked we could order a set that cost many many times the price of those offered in the sale.

As a former member of the org in good standing I couldn't leave you all oout to dry so to speak without this warning.

Thank you for your time,
Terry

Did they take your money and not send a product or did they just put a sale on a product and at the end they were not able to deliver the product? Did you lose any money?

Sucks to hear. On a side note, why are you a former member? I remember you posting all the time on here about 6 months ago or so.

They had a product listed on their site for $12.XX, when the part actually costs in the $300 area. It was a typographical error, and people were being refunded.

I don't see any bait n switch tactics really... and I personally believe everyone got a little too upset. I do not want to take sides though.

The BBB has on record more then a few "typographical errors" of this type from this company, in fact they have enough to provide warnings about this company for what THEY call "deceptive sales pratices".

In an update post several of our members have contacted our states attorneies generals office and after they were contacted by lawyers they changed the price of these lights to $700.03. And now the lights are eternaly "out of stock" and since if they are out of stock they don't have to get them and honor thier mistake.

Bait and switch is what the MD att. gen office refered to it as not I. At this time the MD att gen office is filing internet fraud charges on this company.

More updates to follow.

i read about that. they had several members call and ask if that was the correct price. sometimes they were told yes and other times they were told no it was typographical. either way i would be taking the same action against them for false advertising. they were told eventually they were tryiing to see how much market there was for the product. i personally think its BS. i hope everything turns out in the favor of the guys over at CSS.net

I would like to tell you the truth because the entire office is located in the Philippines and the customer service and the sales department is here in Makati and the accounting department that processes all the refunds is in Bicol and the catalogue office is in Pasig.

I would also like to tell the truth that around 90% I think have no basic car knowledge because they only ride the bus and jeep and were not fully trained for car parts and our catalogue are not daily updated so only a few are updated. We have around 50 plus website as our members.

Our managers will not answer because we are on a firstcall resolution and if we do not resolve that, we will get punished.

The refund takes 4-6 weeks because it is being processed here in Bicol, Philippines. 85% of the agents answering calls for customer service cannot understand english because some only reached second year college or only took 2 year courses so the customer must ask the representative to read back the complaint. If not, they have to cover the for sales agent that sold the wrong part or the catalogue error. Our motto as far as the customer is concerned is 'sir, you have the correct part but the wrong car.'

We are forced to sell parts that are not correct or out of stock because it is punisheable by incident reports and suspensions from the human relations office and the employee relations office.

We cannot change your orders once it has been processed because it has to go airbound from the Carson office to the bicol office and that takes a long time.

If you think you have received the part twice and ordered it either online or through a representative, the representative concerned will misinform or if not, inform the customer that either the order has been cancelled or only an RGA form was filed. Since we have all the customer's contact details, we can search their accounts using the email, the phone number and the last 7 digits of the credit card. So that the customer will not know that a car part was ordered without their consent, we will take away your email or change your address except for your credit card information. We have to do this because we fear the PQA and the employee relations officer and our team leaders because they will issue us incident reports and then suspend us and then blacklist us. Blacklisting agents like us is very easy. We don't have contracts or IDs even if we have been working for almost two years here.

If your cash has not been returned in your credit card, please call our Philippine Office directly area code 632-8564987 or 632-8564986. This IS NOT TOLL FREE but you will be refunded immediately.

Please look for our country manager/chief accountant, Fred Miguel or our call center director/sales director, Joel Acot in this numbers. If they do not want to cooperate, please write directly to buster AT usautoparts.com and report this immediately.

That is all we want to reply.

Signed,

Jose Dacuycuy, Paquito and Romy Diaz, Mel Bigson, George Estregan, Ben David and Igana S.Quama

sounds like horrible business practice to me ^^^^^^. last time i checked fear and punishment shouldn't be a part of legal honest business. maybe you guys (those signed) should deal with different people. maybe people that know what a car part is. just an idea. that way in the end the customer doesn't get @!#$.

I too had a bad experience with them. I had bought some exhaust parts from them on ebay, and 30 days after the payment had cleared, the tracking number still did not show shipped. I sent them emails and ebay messages, to which they gave no response. finally I called thier customer service number, and after being on hold for a very, very long time, I was finally put on the phone with someone who barely spoke any english, and was quite unpleasant to boot. I explained to him the issue, and either he didn't understand, or he pretended not to, and my call was passed on to a similar person. this happenned 4 times before I finally spoke to someone who understood. He assured me that everything would be taken care of within 2 business days. The next morning, I check my ebay account to see that they had filed a non-payment complaint against ME!!! so it became clear at this point, they had no intentions of sending the shipment, and also no intentions of giving me a refund either. So, I filed a complaint with ebay customer service, giving them all of the paypal transaction numbers to verify that I did indeed pay, and what do you know, the next day I get a refund. But I would avoid them from here on out, and recommend that others do the same.

I bought some performance friction pads and some rotors from them. No problems, got everything within a week. I may have been lucky though.

I remember buying aftermarket tele-scope tow mirrors from them for my F150 truck. I ordered my mirrors from them and I had no problems whatsoever, in fact I was impressed because they delivered my parts fairly on time.

Man, I dont think so because I had a great experience with autopartswarehouse.com. I have seen many bad reviews about autopartswarehouse but I wanna prove them wrong because I'm a regular customer of this firm. last time, I orderd Air Filters I love the way they handle me as a customer because they're very accommodating, they make sure that everything will go smooth from step one of the ordering process. I don't know I'm just happy with this autopartswarehouse.com and I'll continue ordering some replacement parts for my car in this site. thank you.

I also bought a K&N typhoon back in 03, no problems either. Reading this thread I don't think I will order from there again; not worth the risk.

Here is matts post history (already changed his creen name) http://www.j-body.org/forums/search.php?f=1&search=thomatt12&globalsearch=1&match=1&date=0&threadtype=&fldusername=1

The clickys should update themselves if and when they post again I think.
