I applied for a sponsorship with NX and they just sent me an email offering me a partial sponsorship, and they want me to pay 50% of retail price of their products. So the question is should i do it?
Another question i have is would i have to buy one of their products right away? Cause i don't have enough money to buy one of their products right now.

If you can't afford a nitrous kit, what makes you think the company is going to heavily invest in you to sell their product? I would be pretty happy with a 50% discount.

and for a 50% discount, what do you need to do in return?

I'm not sure. this is the email he sent me.
Jim,
Thank you for your request for sponsorship. At this time, I am able to offer you a partial sponsorship of 50% off retail. Retail IS NOT what you might see on the internet or get through any distributor. Any price that I give you is going to be the price that you would be responsible for paying. If this is acceptable to you, I can send you the sponsorship agreement and logo files. Let me know!

so have him send you the sponsorship agreement and see what they require of you.
it may only be a few decals and mentions of their company for certain things....or it could be requiring you to go to X ammount of legitimate racing events and competeing
get the agreement and see what they want. that will tell you if it is worth it

If he sends me the agreement and if i think its not worth it. Can i decide not to accept the agreement after that?

yes, the agreement is basically a contract. you are not obligated to anything unless you sign the contract/agreement.
even if they send it to you, you are not obligated to them until it is signed by both parties

Ok, thats good. I will tell him to send me the agreement and i will look it over.

The NX agreement is pretty easy to fulfill. I met my requirements in about 2 months LOL.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.
5K PB: 24:50
10K PB: 54:26
the requirements for that is going to be to put a sticker on your car, as for the fact you posted the sponsorship departments personal email I dont think that was the smartest idea,,,,,
Oops sorry about that. I didn't relize that i did that.

It sounds to me like the'll just give you a discount if you go to X amount of local drag races or what not with your car... with a huge NX sticker on it. Sounds fair to me... 50% off means it takes half as long to save up for spray related goodies.
Just think of all those people out there with stickers on thier cars, that arn't getting anything for it.
Screw free advertising... make them pay!....... or at least hook ya up a little
