ok i realize that theres a 4 door pic thread... and thats fine... but thats not what this is...
i wanna know everyones opinion... what do you like more... 2 or 4 doors (cavy or fire obviously)...
and i know youll pretty much be bias do to what you drive... but if you like 2 doors... what is it about them?... and vise versa...
and pics are welcome... if this is in the wrong spot... please move it...
thanks guys...
I love sedans more, and I own both a sedan and a coupe
i would have to agree with you... ive owned 2 sedans... and a coupe... and i like the sedans way better...
I've always preferred 2 door cars if not for any other reason that they just look cooler. Plus I hardly never have anyone in my back seat.
I still think that J-bodies are just to small a car to have 4-doors. If I had a Cadillac or Crown Vic.... than ya.... I might not mind 4-doors...... but with something like my Sunfire.... which I'm modding to be fast..... I like the sporty look of 2-doors.
Well I'm on my 3rd Coupe now, and I've had one Sedan so far. I have to say that I love the coupes so much better for day to day. If I was trying to take people around or move a lot of stuff I miss the sedan, but all in all I love my coupes the most.
Can't get a sedan convertible... so...

To me, the 3rd gen Cavalier coupe has one of the best looking shapes of any small car I've ever seen, especially the Z24. Although the 89ish Z24 was equally as beautifull.
The way this car looks is pretty much the only reason I bought a Jbody.
I am getting tired of the 20 foot long doors that are impossible to open wide enough when someone has parked next to you though. If I could go back in time, I would at least consider a 2004 Z24 Sedan instead of the coupe, and they are way less common too.
Sedans are pretty special when they are modded nicely too. Also I have to love the 03-05 Sunfire sedans, just because they were Canada only.
And I think the Cavalier convertables are in the small percentage of convertables that actually look good with the top up.
Synopsis: GM made some good looking cars here, but I gotta say I like the coupe better.
In a few words, 4 door + bone stock looking J = sleeper

this man speaks the truth!
i like coupes better than sedans because the 95+ cavs had a great rear quarter window and body lines. like jonathan said, 95-99Zs just look sexy.
but a hooked up sedan can look pretty sweet too. i hate the ribbing on the doors though.
coming back in 2008...
Although there are some really nice sedans on here when i see a four door car i still think "family car" but, when i see a two door car i think "sporty"
BUT.. thats probably because i own a coupe.
(99 - Sunfire - Red - 2200)(95 - Cavalier z24 - Purple - 2.3 quad four)
i do like the look of the cav/fire coupes... dont get me wrong... but ive always had a soft spot for the sedans...
and a little off topic but... they made a z24 cav sedan... why didnt they make a gt fire sedan?... that thing woulda been hot!
Coupe all the way. The four doors look "out of place". i own a parking lot in the town im in and theres a four door car that parks in there. when im in there and the four door is there too. It just looks out of place when the 2 door is in there. It looks honestly box like. but that is my opinion. everyones is respected for their reasons
Coupe, of course. Four doors have a certain attraction in the right car, though. I love the look of my Corolla, and couldn't imagine a 2 door coupe model. It would look funny. But the four door J-bodies, and the twin to my car, the Corsica, look funny to me. In the L body, it's gotta be a Beretta (One of two choices, so it's pretty easy, granny-sedan or cool coupe).
I've always wondered, though. Which is heavier, four small doors, or two bigger ones? What's the weight difference, if any?
2010 Honda Fit LX
Well for the longest everyone had cars in their nice little boxes. sedans=family, grocery getters and coupes=sports cars! Well not true anymore. WRX, EVO, SRT-4, hell even chargers...all quick four door cars. You get the best of both worlds with sedans, you can have a fast car, and still pack your friends in when yall go out. So yeah, I got love for the four doors...
If I had a GTP I would want a 4-door..... Sunfire ar cavy.... I want a 2-door...... it really just depends on the car in question......
I'm still suprised that Dodge hasn't made 2-door SRT4s...... that would look sweet.
i agree with you guys... some cars look way better 4 door then 2 door and vise versa...
but i meant cavys and fires... i love the look of my 4 door fire... i also loved the look of my old coupe... but ive always had a softspot in my heart for the sedans...
i think its just that more impressive when you see one modded nicely...
mmmm...... sedan. No one is going to be expecting what i've got planned.
" Oh look a tuner wanna be"
... rolling at 40mph, drop to 2rd and let the charger whine its heart out.
I love my sedan.
I would have to say that the 2-door is the way to go, they look cooler plus there is not as many blind spots when you are driving. cavalier much better then the sunfire is my choice i have owned both and like the interior layout of the cavalier much better.

Minus the engine, my '02 Sunfire Sedan will soon be a GT Sedan !
I have always thought the same thing though. I think it sucks that GM made a Z24 Sedan, but never made a Sunfire GT Sedan. It'd be so sweet to have a Sedan with an LD9 or ECO and a sunroof! I will really miss my Sunfire GT Coupe when I sell it, but I too have always had a soft spot in my heart for Sedans. My first car was a '94 Sunbird LE Sedan and since then I have just always loved them. In my opinion the Sedans look so much cleaner and sleeker than the Coupes. I can't wait to get my Sedan finished so I can show all the haters out there just how sexy a Sunfire Sedan that's done right can look!
Sedans FTW!
my first car was a 95 cav sedan 5 spd.... ever since i owned that car ive always loved em... cavy or fire...
for my fire i wanna put a gt front on it... and a cav z24 rear bumper, deck lid and tail lights... ive always love the front of the gt's... but the asses of the z24's
Id take my old sedan of any coupe ever made... any.
Canada had the Sunfire GTX sedan... dunno what years, 01? 02? My buddy Nigel had one, 2.4L auto.. silver. course, you can't get a factory sunroof on a sedan...
i've never liked sedans. Ever.
i've always had two doors.
In fact, my winter beater was a 98 Cavalier sedan.
And I hate it.
I'm glad it's gone.
but if 4 doors are your thing, all the better.
Good, bad... I'm the guy with the Cavalier.
