hey does anybody know the demintions of a sunfire engine bay??? im trying to drop a bigger engine in to it but i cant find online how big it is. my car is in IL and im in Iraq now. so... im doing reaserch.

I don't know the dimensions either.. but I've done a 3800 swap into my third gen, and I've helped with other swaps... and seen many others.

You CAN fit a 3400.. pushrod or DOHC (but the latter looks pretty dang tight..!), a 3800 (n/a or supercharged), and pretty much any GM four banger... though most of the newer GM engines (2.0L Ecotec, 2.4L Eco, etc) have larger transmissions... so while the engine will fit, the trans that comes with it won't... unless you cut and weld and brace and so on....

You can fit a V8 in it to go RWD... but that requires a lot of modifications.... most people that think about it never do it. Cost, usually....
