The future of this place
Tuesday, May 20, 2008 5:08 PM
It just doesnt seem to be as big (post and traffic wise) as it once was and it seems like alot of the old faces are gone. I know that alot of the younger crowd will start to pic these up the later ones like 00-05s as their first cars or first project cars over the next few years. It just seems like this place has already kinda went through its "golden age". Where will it be in 5 years?

its going to slowly die out... there will always be a j-body enthusiast out there though.

even if this place see's 10 posts a day, there's always going to be the search... if the site does continue, it will be the legacy of this place, and i think thats very noble.

but, like everything... here today, gone tomorrow. all things must come to an end, even good things.

Riddle me this... riddle me that...

lol its only a car forum not a job or a house. if it was gone id just go to a different car forum. dont get me wrong i love the org and ive meet some great people off of here and learned alot from here but like zyaaaa said, nothing last forever.

i've definately notice alot less traffic lately....but you also have to remember that its spring time and people are working on their projects now.

but OT has definately seen a decline in frequency which I dont like....since OT is my life blood

If I woke up and the org was gone..... I wouldn't know what to do with my Internet connection LOL

Seriously though.... the only 2 web sites that are really ever on my computer screen is the org and my E-mail.

btw.... Isn't the org going to be 10 years old next year? (I can't remember the month)

If this place ever dies out.... it will be a sad day.... I wonder what Dave's long term plans for the site are..... and if he plans on keeping it up and running when the day comes that the only people that own these cars are a select handful of us that still have our 30 year old 1997 Cavy in their garage. Maybe if Dave is reading this thread he could chime in (cough cough )

One day I hope to have my rare vintage Sunfire at a car show when I'm old and gray.

to be fair, there are some old faces on perma-ban. i know the lack of OT sucks. i can't read the same stuff over and over again.

Ive noticed the post have died alot as well, as well as the old heads are gone, or dont even post on here anymore.. Which is fine.. Im an old head, I still post every once in a while

I also agree that people have projects goin on, including myself that prevents us from being on here often.

yeah, but you have to look at the people who also graduated from j-bodies, but still come back here. This place is more than a car forum. Places like OT, & AG make it different from most forums i have been on.

I would hate to see it go, but the platform is dead, so eventually this place will be too.

I will always own at least 1 j-body (if not more) so hopefully the org will be here, but the less traffic has been nice.

Ehh, I don't think that's true. With the amount of these cars that were produced I think there will always be a reason to keep this site around...

I don't see it going anywhere for a while I wouldn't worry about it that much. Ya eventually people will move on to other things but if you really think about it, you probably will too lol. Ya I'm gonna make sure I accomplish what I want to with my cav but when I graduate college and have a real job I'll be able to move on to bigger and better things. I'm not knocking our cars what so ever but honestly.. were gonna move on.. theyll be jbody sites up another good 5 years minimum... I'll wanna build a muscle car after my cav..
