Every time I find a way to a computer from the road I keep seeing posts on this site about new parts being made or people trying to design new parts. It is great to see all of these companies, and individuals, wanting to make parts for the J-Body even if it is a "dead" platform. I wish this had come sooner, but better late than never eh?
As many of you know I drive a 18-wheeler for a living now and my car is just sitting in hiding away from prying eyes and those who would do harm to her (I have received some threats in the past from locals).
To any company that is interested in making parts for the 03+ Ecotec J-Body....I would like to make my car available to you. I am not doing anything with it currently and have no plans to for at least 90-120 days. If you would like to use it for mock-up and design purposes it can be yours, with a few stipulations....
1) I don't want most of the things being designed these days. They no longer apply to my car. Don't offer me parts in exchange for use. I just want to help others out for now.
2) Guarantee it'll be under lock and key at all times and covered by a security system Your cousin sleeping in the front office doesn't count.
3) I require a written guarantee that any damage done or any changes made will be returned to original, or better, condition before return of car.
4) Transportation of car must be worked out at least 1 week ahead of time. I want to know exactly who is paying for transport and what company or individual is doing the move and how it is being moved. Car has no insurance except the property insurance of where it sits currently so your insurance must cover it during transit.
5) Car will not be signed over to anyone for any reason. It stays in my name so you can't say it's yours in court.
6) Car must be humped at least once weekly, more if John Lenko is around.
7) Car must be kissed goodnight each day. If it's not it may fight back when you try to work on it.
If anyone wants her to help the community, give me a shout. I should be able to get to a computer weekly now but if not I'll get back to you ASAP. Remember rule #1 too PLEASE....I don't want your parts...just the continued furthering of the J platform.
