has any one heard of carsponsors.com? and if you know or have heard of them are they legit?
Word to the wise- Sponsors are seaked out and earned, not handed out.... for a monthly payment.
Do you have a porfolio for your car? With pictures of previous builds, list's of major shows attended forsponsor exposure, and atleast one fully built car to show a company what you can do?
My buddy is sponsored for kicker in his bense. He dropped more than he paid for the car before they even looked at him for a custome setup.
Can't by a sponsorship... or be placed in one bro sorry, there earned either through alot of moeny or wrench time, usually both.
Hope that helps.

i don't think i'd even want sponsors even if they were legit unless i had a serious fulltime show car or race car and the time to spend doing it fulltime. Sponsors make a lot of demands and can even yank your sponsorship and charge you for parts they've given you that you don't have the money to pay for. For the average enthusiast, it doesn't make much sense to me. I think some people just want free parts. Nothing is free, everything has a cost, even if its not monetary.

now hold on i went through this awhile back thier pritty good about getting parts out thier not a full sponsorship company , but you get helluva discounts on stuff. hell i picked up an emergancy grade strobe kit for my car and a blue LED glow under car package for a whopping 48 bucks for both. i kept tracking them due to the advice the org gave me.they called back 2 weeks later to see if i had recieved them, i had not the next day they showed up 3 days later another set showed up thier not a scam. id say thier more of a discount store. just becareful what you buy.

you dont pay for sponsors period. you also dont drive 90% stock cars and have sponsors.

Where did you hear this? I had 5 sponsors in 2005 and none of them made demands other than decal placement. They will request that you go to certain shows and events but if you legitimately can't they're fine with it usually. The only time they cancel a sponsorship during the contract period is you do something to really piss them off. Normally you just won't get renewed for the next season.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

heard about this years ago, i think there was a place on here that tried that scam and on the Civic forums called DIZA where you had to pay them for the sponsorship

This is a
well-known scam. Do a little research. It's all over the place as joey posted a link above^^^
They keep calling me also i did the thing on myspace and when it came to the credit card part i aborted. Unfortantly i had given them my phone number on the first page and they have it now. They do not want to here what i want to say they are rude and interupt and they are always asking me for money. I advise to not do it for real.

I have heard of sponsers demanding exposure and cacelling contracts as well, all depends on the sponsor, what they have given you, and what they expect from you.
it should be called parts@cost.com
its not a scam it just is what it is.
what happens is you send your fee in and youlle get a half dozen sponsorships. now what they basically are is a reduced cost purchase. you purchase the parts at near cost. now you go to shows and if you win you will get reimbursed for your parts. so it can end up being free in the end. heres the thing. 90% of the cars and people that sign up. dont have cars good enough to ever win a car show. for the majority of the people on that site your just basically buying things on sale. for prices you can find at other websites usually. if you dont have a car close to winning shows then your not goint to get anything for free. if your car is winning shows then you do have the ability to get some parts for free. they make their money on all the kids with stock cars that thinik its a cood deal to be "sponsored" when in reality their just buying parts. those kids help pay for the 10% of the cars on there that can win shows. its good for the sponsors because they dont lose money on giving out free parts to people who dont fulfill their obligations.
as far as sponsorships go. if your not in a position to go to shows and push the product then you should't be getting sponsorships. me personally they have been a good thing and have helped me start to get the car futher along and as far as what the sponsors ask for in return you should be willing to put the work in, and if your not then dont get sponsored, its that simple. if your just wanting to get parts for free your not what a sponsor wants. a sponsor basically wants a salesmen for their product, someone that can generate more sales for them.

Thats how i understand carsponsorships.com to work. I have thought about signing up, but they dont have any "sponsors" that interest me.
thank you sndsgood that's what i was trying to say. it is a legit company just odn't expoect to get a free ride out of them they were very good to me when i ordered my parts i wanted now i realized it was a badd thing to do and i no longer have strobes or led's under my car but for the price i paid i sold off the 2nd set i got for 2X the $$$ i paid for them. so i think i made out well lol
