dealer rice. they mean nothing.
dealers put GTX or Z22 stickers on cars in an effort to drive up the price. so when some sucker comes along (no offense to you dude), they sell a $5,000 cavalier for $8,000. and this buyer thinks he is getting something special due to the stickers

ok thanks, anyway I got her at a cheap price and I love it what about goo gone and a hairdryer to remove this @!#$ out?

goo gone and a hair dryer should work pretty easily.. they have goo gone in a spray gel and in a foam as well as the normal liqued.. i used the spray gell when i took off my door strips and it worked very well (even when slightly chilly out) spray it on,let it soak in a minute or two then try to peel it up from a corner , peel as much as you can at once and continue to spray it as you peel..

once you finished peeling it off use a little more to gett the sticky residue off using your thumb to rub it away...once all is gone give it a good washing ...

Yep, hair dryer and goo gone with a squeegee to scrap the vinyl off. More than likely that vinyl looks very cheap and is probably baked on there good

Correct me if I'm wrong but Canada had real "GTX" Sunfires.

what do you mean by 'real GTX sunfire' ?

Re: Factory GTX decals meaning

^That it came from Lordstown, Ohio or Ramos Arizpe, Mexico (where Sunfires were manufactured) to the dealers with "GTX" on it.

And yes it did, I'm not loosing my memory--yet. This is what GM said.

Quote:

2002
Introduced new 2.2L DOHC "Ecotec" L4 engine on GT and GTX models; SL and SLX coupe models added; remote keyless entry, power locks, Monsoon premium sound system, power windows, dual power outside mirrors added as standard equipment on the GT coupe; internal trunk release handle and auxillary power outlet standard on all models

The sunfire and sunfire gt emblems are on by double sided tape. I'm not sure why yours isn't

Correct. Since you have a GT, the only place there should be holes are in the fenders to hold the side skirts on...

I could be wrong but I've heard of this too. I thought the GTX was the 4 door with the bigger engine. Like a 2002 sedan with the 2.4 Twin Cam.

I'm about 90% sure the Sunfire "GTX" was only a concept, and never sold to the public. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

the sunfire "GTX was available to canadians from 95-99 IIRC. but it was never offically badged it.

essentially, it was a 4-door sunfire with every available option, 2.4L engine, power everything, and ONLY automatic.

Thats what i was looking for... So to the OP your car may not be a "real" GTX but they do exist.
