My Sunfire has a blown head gasket as well as some undefined internal damage. I was quoted $1050 for the head gasket replacement. I'd do it myself, but I don't have the time or tools. I need a new daily driver, and I still owe on the blown vert.
What can I expect to get out of this? I'm asking $900 right now. Let me know what you guys think. Help please!
P.S. the new car may just be a 5spd z24 cavvy : P
I was poking around edmunds.com and I dont know the specifics of your car but I entered white 98 sunfire I didnt put in any options like 5speed or power windows, alloy wheels ect ect.. in rough condition (rough condition by there standards is Several mechanical and/or cosmetic problems requiring significant repairs. ) with 80,000 miles and it gave three prices
1..trade in..1,140.
2..private party..1510.
3..retail dealer..1960..
go to edmunds and enter all the proper info and im sure you will get a better idea.. what you actually get for it in sale might be a bit different but its a start
i just got a head for a 2.4 at
http://www.cylinder-heads.com and it was $305.00 shipped and that was the best deal i could find. if you decide to replace it.
I really wish I could just get out from under it. I'm working 40 a week and going to school full time and really don't have the time or money to have a project that I still owe on.
I've had a few people show interest in it at $900 so we'll see where it goes I guess.
