Hi,
I've looked in many spots in this forum and on the internet as a whole for this information but have failed thus far.
I can find lists of applicable TSB's for my car in many locations but finding the text body of a given TSB has eluded me. I've read that they are closely kept copyrighted material that isn't available to the general public and only a dealer can let you see them (if he wishes).
Copyrighted information on the Net is not at all uncommon with the miracle of digital scans. Is there a source for this information. There are many I don't care about, there are a few I'd really like to read and implement.
Thanks for any help and direction.
I haven't yet asked my dealership for this info. I imagine they'd help for I own 2 Pontiacs (95 Sunfire (picked up used), 07 Vibe (purchased new at my local dealer) but then again, I don't utilize their service dept and only occasionally purchase parts there, we aren't what you'd call "close".

I have access to the bulitins, what problem are you trying to find?
Wow, that would be great!
I've got a 95 Sunfire Convertible.

Thanks, having worked in the auto industry years ago, many TSB's repeated themselves or simply superseded a previous issue.
These may be nothing but am simply curious about them.
Thanks for any help you can provide, I appreciate it.

I also have access to every TSB for every car. I am not able to give you everyone that you wish to see, but I can send you a very low amount. Which one would you like to see the most?

Thanks for the offer. I would say that I am most concerned about the soft top damage. I have a near perfect top and considering the cost of a new one and the effort to install it, I'd rather keep the one I have in good shape as long as I can.

Dave, I noticed in your list of TSB's, you have several that deal with soft top damage. (And, I noted your concern for top damage in your responses.) I don't know if any of them deal with this particular problem specifically, but I noted a problem with my top and quite by accident found out what the cause (and solution) was.
In my car's case, the top would develop "dimples" in the fabric each time it was folded down. The dimples were on both sides of the car (one on each side), just behind the side rear quarter windows, about 8" above where the top meets the body rear quarter. It looked like something was poking the material slightly, not enough to hole through, but enough that the fabric showed the spot when the top was put back up. After a day or two in the sun, it would go away. But, it annoyed me that it was happening and I just couldn't see anything that would be causing it.
As it turns out, the dimples were being caused by the studs that hold the rear struts in. The studs protrude up through the top of the fender well and into the top well where the rear quarter of the top folds. GM must have known of the problem as the studs in my car had tiny rubber tips pressed on them. These blunted the ends, but didn't solve the problem which is basically that the studs are too long. I measured how much of the studs protruded past the nuts, removed the struts and cut off the excess stud with a hacksaw (which turned out to be about 1/2"). After cleaning up the threads and reinstalling the struts, it took care of the problem. (This all took place when I installed a Tokico spring and strut kit. The studs on the stock struts were the same length as the Tokico's.)
I've seen several other third generation convertibles advertised on eBay that show the same dimples in the top. Don't know if yours is affected, but I'd definitely take a look if you see anything like I described. Good luck. - Mark
