hi JBO,
its been a long time now since ive been on here...been hanging in the jeep world lol...but i need some help from my fav people. I found a guy with a cavi for sale locally and it sounds as if he doesnt really know too much about cars in general let alone cavis. Hes got a 2000 cav with a 5 speed fully loaded (not sure on miles awaiting a response) and he is willing to sell it for $200.00. Problem is that he is saying it doesnt always want to start and he says he has changed the battery and the altenator. Im thinking its possibly a number of very small stupid reasons and he is just too lazy to figure it out which is great cause i could pick up a cheap little cavi to start working on. Im thinking it could be either a starter, a coil or coil pack (not sure of engine type yet either..again waiting for response) or possibly even a crank sensor. Im wondering if anyone here has had any similar problems and what the diag was...just to make sure im not getting in over my head. Really want another cavi...i miss it soooo much...jeeps are fun but im a die hard chevy fan lol. any help anyone can give me id really appriciate it...thanks JBO!!!
who cares what the problem...as long as its small. buy it for 200, sink maybe 400 in to it to get it running, and then turn it for 1800.
you come up on 1200 bucks.
/end thread.
GO PATS!!!
tru dat.....to everything.....either buy it or gimme his number, and i will.

Shut up f*ckstick. For 200 dollars that car is worth buying even if it is a 2200. If the motors fuct it sounds like a good motor swap candidate.
Rodimus,,, you are a real downer, I bet you suck the excitement out of every place you go,,,,
If you ask for JBO's opinion....Rod WILL come in.
But on the same hand, He DID ask for JBO's opinion....
I say buy it. Can't lose for $200.

I vote for Buy it with exceptions.
Look carefully for accident repair, ill fitting doors....wait, it's GM, of course the door don't fit well!
Creases in the frame members that shouldn't be there,
waves in the body panels
obvious signs of a repaint along weatherstripping and at the edges of panels where they might of masked
AND
ANY RUST.
Pass on it if that's the case.

Either you buy it or I will ;]

I did ask for JBO's input and I will consider all good and bad comments...to each their own...but im not a guy im definatly a chick and im still waiting to hear back from this guy...doesnt seem to be online very often. I wanted some further details from him and possibly the vin so i can check it out carfax and decide if it is even worth going to look at it.
i say go for it. like Redneck said, even if you have to do an engine swap you're still getting a heck of a deal.
