Well i was wondering what is every one getting with a auto
247 mpg and i stomp on it all day!
5 mpg if i run my hyper drive
My mom used to get about 16-18 mpg but she had a lead foot, im not talking 100 mph but she would basically floor it until she got up to speed...4700 rpm in 1st, 3200 in 2nd....just daily driving....shes flying past everyone when the light goes green
2.2 maunal ftw, im gettin lik 22-25 and i drive it hard =D
28-30 highway
13-15 at the drag strip.
I never checked driving around the city.

and just kiddin
dunno bout auto but my 2.4 manual gets:
Summer
cruising about 30-32 mpg
local 22 mpg
flooring it about 25 mpg
winter:
crusing about 28 mpg
local 19
flooring it= landed in snowbank
mine modded with the ECM tuned it consistantly pulled 32mpg with premium.
well i put 8 gallons in the car monday and there was city driving and high way driving. and it was about the 3/4 tank full and now im about 1/4 and i driven 100 miles so im guessing about 19-20 MPG
that sucks. all of my LD9s averaged about 400 miles to a tank, and that was with city driving and highway thrown in. all highway, like on roadtrips, I'd get about 430-450 miles to a tank

The Radiation Nation Facebook Twitter Twisted Metal Alliance
average 31 mpg
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
'97 auto 2.4 always got about 24 mpg (city), if you are getting less you need to stop going over 3k all the time or have the car checked out/tuned.
My 2.slow with the 3 speed averages 20-24 in town and 26-31 on the highway. The 20 MPG is if I drive it like the racecar that it is.

That's a term for the 2.0 jetta's, "slow" sounds like O....two point oh 2.0....2.2 is actually faster, lol not by much at all but it is, was a ohv 5 speed cavi vs 2.0 jetta 5 speed cavi wont by about half a car length from 0-70ish
I commute everyday about a total roundtrip of 60 miles or so. Its mostly highway with some city, and I average anywhere between 30-32
My 2.4 has a 5 speed though. And that average is with moderate to some heavy throttle
I get about 19-21 in the city
28-30 mpg on the highway
This is for a 2001 Cavalier 2.4L automatic, this range is what the fueleconomy.gov specifies. I made a calculator on excel to make sure my mileage stays consistent.
Just filled up today, averaged 25 total, both City and short highway (30mi stretches). I've gotten 32 on a long trip before, but it's been a few years since I've done of those. Typical Summer MPG is 24-26 City.
'97 2.4 Auto, all-season tires, moderate driving style, 75% highway / 25% city, 87 regular gas.
Winter; 20-24 mpg (half of the running time is idling in -20 below temperatures).
Spring; 25-28 mpg (occasional A/C use).
Probably won't be driving it much over Summer, but if I do I'll report back...

Running rich with a manual, 350km to a full tank of premium! F my life I need a tune....................
Not a jbody but with the 99 Malibu auto we had, we were getting 28mpg in it on the highway and it was mainly driven highway up until 183k when the engine gave out.

I am a 2.3 5 speed, but close enough... right? lol. Anyways I get near 500 miles on a full tank. It is highway, but still pretty good in my opinion. I get less in town, but don't know what it is yet.
Drop some cams in there and the mileage will drop about 10mpg over 3k on the tach.. I gotta stay off the interstate unless I want to average 20mpg flat wich means im getting in the teens when actually at 75mph.
Keep it at 60 or under I get about 30 though.
5-speed btw.
what cams would get the better gas mileage ho or secret? and can i run them with out a tune
The lowest I've ever gotten in my 2.4 was 25.7. If I'm trying to save gas (like I do most of the time...college student = broke
), I've gotten as high as 33.6 mpg, average 29.1. I use fuelly.com (see signature) to keep up on the mileage so I can track my driving habits and catch possible problems early on (sudden drop in mileage = maybe time for a tune-up or part replacement). Usually I keep the tach at just over 2.5 when cruising, and when accelerating, don't let it go above 3. Regular octane gas, conventional oil, usually no passengers or stuff to carry around except my backpack for school.
Might be lame to worry about gas mileage on a fun, semi fast car, but hey...gas is at $3.88, and my job doesn't start til next month...

Same here, I never really added up MPG, I go by my fuel tank/trip counter.
This is a manual Z24 by the way, and this isn't a stock motor ether so I'm rather impressed with the millage.
My wife doesn't lol She's used to the 40+mpgs her Sentra gets and how it seems like it can go forever at 1/4th tank lol
From completely filled I see about 70-80miles when it finally breaks past the full line, from the full line to 3/4 I reach 200-220 by half tank I'm right at or over 300 miles.
By 1/4 tank I'm around 390, sometimes 400+, so if I were to let the tank go to empty I'd easily see 450 on a tank of gas,
On a road trip(went to Florida last in November saw great millage on the highway, was averaging 350 miles by half tank.
Its almost 1200 miles round trip from here to Jacksonville, FL. We filled up once per trip, and once for driving around JAX($10).
It also depends on WHERE I get gas from, my car HATES Shell gas, Where I usually see 300 miles by half a tank, if I'm using shell I'm lucky to see 250.
Wal-Mart gas is what my car loves, followed by Quality Plus(Mountain Energy around here).
