though this is a really specific question it makes me very curious, i cant find a break down of production numbers based on paint, i have a 1998 z24 coupe with opal blue metallic paint. This i figured would be pretty a common color because it is a cavalier and they made a lot but now that i look for them i cant find one the same color. even a google search comes up with maybe a hand full and most of which are convertibles. just looking to see if anyone had an idea about this or had noticed the same thing

There's a lot.. but as with anything, when you're looking you can never find them. I ran a quick search of that colour on www.compnine.com and got about 10% of all models in the Opal blue.. so yeah, there were a lot made.

Up here in Canada, I notice that colour often on sedans for some reason. That, and the metallic green.
