Transmission Fluid Level ?
Monday, January 30, 2006 1:34 PM
I have an 05 2.2 Cavi with auto

Where can I check the tranny fluid level. Does it have a dipstick, or the bolt on the side? Its shifting a bit odd, so I want to make sure the level is good, and add some lucas.

Thanks

Dipstick in the engine bay. Level is usually checked when idling in Park or Neutral.

Isn't the trans on the 05 sealed with no dipstick? I did some checking around, and its sealed, no way to check the level. Have to take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the... errr... help?

yep, the 4T40 has no dipstick. the only way to check it is by taking off the driver's wheel, removing the wheelwell liner, and start adding fluid until it comes out of a weephole in the side of the trans.

Sorry 'bout the 'help'. What a load of $*&#!^(& GM pulled with the no dipstick!! Foolish of me to think that GM'd be customer friendly.

Probably some cost reduction invented by a financial genius
