I need help with putting in new glass on my passanger side door of my 93Z. My car got broken into and that was the entry point. Insurance is trying to %$&@ me so I would like to fix it myself. I can get the glass no problem but I need to know how you change the glass. I was hoping for some insight or how to. I would just open up the door and figure it out but my tools got stolen. I have a friend offering his tools and help but I'd like to know how to do it before I tie up my friend's time.
thanks.
Its a little bit of a pain to get the window in, little bit of effort it should slide right in. A good socket set with some good socket extentions, Flat head screw driver work perfect. All you got to do is take apart the inside door panel, roll up window whinder, Once you get that panel off, You will see about 8 circle rubber bushings with nuts on them, Unloose those nuts, Then youre ready for the glass to be installed, Now you got to do is slide the front curved piece glass towards the front mirror angle it enough that its able to slide into the window tracks, Once everything is lined up, The bottom part of the new glass should be able to positioned into window lever arm. Apply the rubber bushings on either side of the glass tighten them up, then test the window, by rolling it up and down, Everything works great, Then put the door panel back together youre set.
(Note Its an easy job, Just making sure the window stays lined up is the hard part.)
Good Luck. Keep us updated.
