I'm about to do some work on the fuel rails and just wanted to double-check that it's safe to mix PB Blaster with gasoline and rusted metal (and possibly WD-40). I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I'd rather look stupid then risk blowing my car up from some funky chemical reaction.

I did it on some rusted gas tank straps with a leaking gas tank. Mm I'd say no problem, as long as youre not like smoking a cigarette while doing this

If you're talking about a bad chemical reaction from PB Blaster and gas being mixed, then no, you won't see smoke or any kind of explosion (provided you're not smoking at the time, as previously pointed out).

If you're talking about spraying PB Blaster into your gas tank, then that's probably not a good idea, thoug it will actually burn. I wouldn't recommend it, however.

And save the WD-40. If PB Blaster won't help it get loose, wd-40 most assuredly won't either.
If cleaning stuff, save the PB Blaster for rusted bolts and just use wd-40.

Thanks guys, I shot all my fuel rail fittings with PB and I'm wearing a shirt covered in PB and gas... Since I'm still alive I'm guessing it's safe to mix the two. I try to play it safe because I once got WD40, brake fluid, and that rust converter stuff (stuff that turns it into black oxide) mixed together and it produced a lot of bubbles and nasty smoke
