After 3 cooling system flushes, 2 sensors, and hours ripping out wiring to trace the wires and re-route the sensor wires after not finding a short I am still having problems and getting this code. What else could it be? Fluid cap possibly? I wouldn't care other than causing me to run rich and giving me problems starting up (long high idle, stalling once in a while, and not turning over right away). Also my temp gauge stays at cool, once in a while it will bounce up some and seem to float half way between cold and normal. Did change thermostat also. Any suggestions?? By the way, P0118 = engine coolant temperature circuit high input
I would bet money it is the plug/wires that plug into the sensor. Gm actually sells new pigtails. #8898-7993 is the part number. This should tell you how common it is.

did you ever actually change the sensor?
Lol yeah didn't mention changing them, but i did change the sensors twice. Think i may try the pigtails, thought of that as a solution but didn't think it would go bad so didn't go any farther with changing them. Ill try that on monday and see how it goes, hopefully that wil fix it.
Well changed the sensor connector today, took a minute to start up at first so I was worried, but now it runs great. Thanks for the help
