Well my coolant level sensor is toast.... I bought a new one at autozone, then when I got to thinkin... How the hell am I supposed to change it? Cause it looks like it is loged in the tank, and really there is no good way to get to it without tearing the hell out of the tank... Any suggestions?

Under the tank, use a long nose pliers, be easier if you get the tank upside down.

Like Luis said. The sensor is a friction fit and pulls out from the bottom outside of the tank after you disconnect the electrical connector. The other part that trips the senor is a internal float with a magnet that as it goes up and down, trips the sensor.

The internal tank float is not replaceable and many times can stick due to when the coolant sludges. That is really were most problems are as the external sensor is pretty much a solid state dummy. If the float sticks due to sludge, you have to remove the reservoir thank and attempt to flush it clean and unstick the float.

My "low coolant" light was stuck on for several weeks. After reading above that the float gets stuck, I took a hammer and tapped the coolant-reservoir tank several times at the left front corner (near the sensor) in order to try to unstick the float. I also banged the handle of a screwdriver against the same corner of the reservoir tank (but lower down where the hammer couldn't reach) by tapping the blade-end of the screwdriver with a hammer. It worked!!! Now my coolant light isn't on anymore!!! Of course you need to be careful not to hit the tank so hard that you break the plastic. But it freaking worked! Unbelievable.
