I have a 1996 Cav. I have a leak in the back brakes. I want to plug the two rear brake lines at the brake master cycl under the hood.

I dont know which of the four lines if for the two rear wheels. The 1st line is cloest to the front of the car and each line is in back of each other. Does anyone know?

not a good idea... id fix the leak... you can end up screwing up a ton of stuff trying to plug them...

I would just have to remove two lines, screw in two plugs and I would be done.

Do you know which of the four lines are for the rear?

If you are thinking of running your car on ONLY the 2 front brakes, that is a very BAD idea.

But to answer your question, just crawl under the car and follow the lines up to the MC. It'll take you two minutes.

Where do you live?

I just want to make sure your no where near me with that death trap. Fix the leak instead of screwing around trying to kill the other people on the road.

I'll give you the answer. its the 2 rear-most lines on the master. but you should listen to these guys. thanks to a faulty set of star-adjusters, I know what its like not to have the rear brakes grab when they need to, hit a guardrail backwards at 75mph a few years ago. also plugging them right there will leave the fluid nowhere to go and blow your master for sure. brake lines are a few bucks at the parts store.

If the rear brakes have a leaky whl cylder why not just replace it or rebuild it.And then blead the system and have fresh fluid which obviously is NOW contaminated! The time u spend to do ur plugging will cost u dearly time wise and safety wise I assure you.Your safety should be priority 1 and do the job right to avoid the headaches u could have to deal with.
