Cruise shuts off itself, car hesitates a little?

2000 Cavalier Z24, my cruise will only work on the smoothest of roads, once I hit a bump or rough road it shuts itself off. Sometimes also, when the cruise is off, I'll be driving and between 2000 and 3000 rpm, the car bogs a little under acceleration, but I get consistent gas mileage so I don't know if it's something to do with a speed sensor or ? What might be the cause of this and what is needed to fix it?

Nobody has any idea what is causing this or how I can fix it?

well, if it shuts off after hitting a bump, it could likely be your servo, or the switch (assuming you have the one mounted to the blinker switch). while driving, set the cruise and once youre going about 35-70 mph flick the switch and see if it shuts off. thats what was wrong with my 97 sunfire. maybe this will help you...
