Cargo springs

My 2002 Cavaliers rear sags about 2-3 inches every time I put my bike rack on. It holds 3 bikes and the whole thing probably weighs 250 pounds. My mechanic told me to install cargo springs or coils? on the rear struts. Would this be simple to do? Is there another solution?
Thanks

i dont think your going to find stiffer springs without lowering the car.
Coilovers would probably help since you can adjust the height if need be, but dont think you can cheap out and get $65 springs. your factory struts arent going to like the stiffer spring rate too much, so you might a s well figure in some new struts that can handle them.

so $700-$1200 is what you will be spending to do it right

If you are looking to maintain a stock ride height and be able to handle better loads. The only cavalier with a beefier rear spring is out of a CNG cavalier. Thier parts are very hard to come across though.

idk what they are called but go to autozone or pepboys they have blocks that you vcan put between the springs to keep the ride height the same.
