I took my car to some cheap garage to get it e-tested and it fail they said there's to much HO coming out and then he said it 75$ to look for the problem and could cost me up to 450$ to fix it. dose any know what would cause to much NO coming out my exhaust, or what i can do to lower it.

It would help to know what engine you have. Typically high NOx is caused by the car running lean.
Agreed with ^. I also think, could be wrong, but egr also has something to do with it. Maybe a blocked port????
Common problems that cause high N0x are,bad or fowled O2 sensor or bad catylitic converter. How high were the Nox readings?
Egr valve also, like MrChoo said!!!! May be worth paying the $75 diagnosis fee rather than throw expensive parts at it.You do have 2 retests though at $17.50 each. Try blowing out the egr, cleaning the O2 sensor, changing the oil if you didn't already.
i have the same problem and motor ....
HC LIMIT 66 MINE 8
CO% LIMIT 0.37 MINE 0.00
NO ppm LIMIT 505 MINE 808
AND I TRIED CLEANING THE EGR VALVE

you are running lean, hence the 0 CO and high NO... my guess is o2 sensor as the likely culprit..
My emissions problems are much harder to figure out as i have high co AND no with a brand new cat... gm suspects a bad test (not warming up the car to operating temp before testing) but havent gone for the retest as of yet to find out for sure...
^^ can GM Emission test your car for you?
yeah they run etests.. at least here they do (ontario)... not all dealerships mind you, but most of the bigger ones do...
i found out i had loose plug wire i still havent gone for the test again but do think this would caused it to fail
Yes it would cause it if one cylinder is not firing like it should.
yeah... if the wire was loose, you might not get any spark at all... or not enough to fully burn.. whatever doesnt burn will come through your tailpipe as HC.. if im not mistaken, which i prolly am... lol
in any case.. you have probably found your problem, get er retested..
k ill send it in again and see ... thanks boys
