hey guys my 97 cavaers ignition switch is @!#$. brought it to the dealer n they want to charge me over 400 to replace cuz of some code...any way to replace it without this code? also i dont have factory stereo. any help on this topic would be great. been out of a car for over 2 weeks now so help is needed fast.

Replace it and then follow THIS
Should work for ya
Just remember, you'll have to have an ignition key and then a door key because they won't match anymore.

hmmm i c.....im looking at a igniton cylender n key on ebay right now. came out of a 00 cavalier standard...will it work? Do all i need is the key cylender?

I'm not sure.
If I were you i'd stick with 95-99 just to be sure. But ya, all you should need is the cylinder and key.
