98 cav 2.4 auto. already searched. car starts then cuts off. check oil light on. batt is draining power. yet starts fine on warm days. local shop not sure even after scan.cleaned all wires n silicone sprayd. could moisture b gettn 2 my computer?
i'd be willing to bet cracked idi cover (the white plastic cover on the underside of the metal plate that says 2.4 twin cam on it) or bad coils.

idi cover ok. could only get one coil. car starts n runs when air is dry on no moisture seems 2 be n air. long as check oil light is on car starts n runs 4 second then cuts off. if no light on runs fine. need help this is daily driver.

on some cars, when the oil light comes on, the car is designed to shut off because if the computer thinks the car is low on oil, it will shut the engine off to prevent damage. have you changed oil recently? maybe try some motor flush. or you might have a clogged oil screen causing oil to flow sometimes, and not flow other times. i havent driven the car so i cannot be sure though

im not sure but i think there is a oil preasure sensor on the back of the motor and that tells the oil light to come on if the is low press
98 Z24 Cav has no oil level sensor. found out problem,was in instrament cluster.thanks 4 all the help.and ideas.
