2200 not starting....any ideas?

friend has a 2000 sunfire with the 2200

when he starts it, it cranks and it's getting he's almost positive it's getting fuel, but not starting....sound like everything is fine and it wants to start, but it's not....he thinks it's not getting spark, he changed, plugs, wires, and coil pack any ideas? thing is he hit 2 deers in the last year, now it has been fixed by a shop through insurance.. but is there a sensor or something in the front end the may be causing it not to start, a shot in the dark but thought it might be an issue...the car is stock no uprades or mods of any sort, and it has been scanned and has no codes....any ideas?

Say he wasn't getting fuel? is there a shut off because of the accident? i haven't seen the issue just think maybe he is getting no fuel, instead of no spark but dont know....

no, lots of fords have that cut off, not gm.

I would say get a spark tester, and get a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and see what is going on before you throw more parts at it.

Step 1: Pull spark plug wire off of one of the plugs and use a spark tester to see if ignition is firing.

Step 2ull plugs and check. Replace if needed ( plugs are cheap I would replace them anyway).

Step 3: In the fuse box under the hood locate the fuel pump relay and hold your finger on top of it. Now have your friend turn the key to on position and if the relay clicks its good.

Step 4: Lay down under the back of the car and disconnect the fuel filter and replace it. While its off have your friend turn key to on position if you here pump or see fuel squirt out the pump is working.

Gasoline engines don't run for one of three basic reasons no fuel, no spark, or both. You just need to figure out which one.

Don't let the punks get to you. If they can't say anything helpful its because they probably
have VERY LITTLE IF ANY MECHANICAL SKILLS . Talking crap is just their way of hiding that
fact. They figure the more crap they say the less likley anyone will know how dumb they are.
