Shifter cable removal...

Ok, how do you "pop" off the shifter cables from the tranny and the shifter stick?

All the haynes manual says is to use a screw driver to 'pry' something off, but doesn't really show/explain what.

Anyone give me some better details, pics maybe?

They are stuck on there pretty good. I just did this last week. I used the biggest screwdriver I could fit then gently pried it up and off. Sorry no pics. They will pop off.

I got the smaller one with the bulge on it off, but can't get the other one to move.

Ok, I got all of them free but one. The passenger side cable.
I just can't get any leverage over it, every time I start prying with the screwdriver the metal bracked moves and it wont pop off.
Suggestions?
