I have a 96 Z 5 spd. I just recently replaced the piston rings, headgasket, and head bolts. I have been getting alot of white smoke from the exhaust, when I say alot I mean like a wall of smoke when I leave a stop. I did a compression test and found that #4 was almost half of what the other cylinders were. And here is a look at the plug that came out of that cylinder. Mind you, the rebuild was done not that long ago and all 3 of the other plugs look great
Should I just tear it down and see if by chance I mis read the ring gap and they hit or if the head gasket blew or does anyone have some insite that would lead me to what I need to expect?

Looks to me that you got coolant beening burnt in cyl. Due to improper seating of H/G. Or cracked cyl head. was that ever pressure tested?. For the oil deposites, Would lead me to think you got worn valve guides that allow large amounts of oil to coat spark plugs.
No but I don't think it is cracked cause I never had that problem before I changed the head gasket.

took the head off and found the #4 piston clean as a whistle from not having any combustion. This was most likely due to a small chuck out of it towards the cylinder wall. I can post a pic if you guys want to see it but im 99% sure and hoping that this is the problem cause i have an extra piston and rod that i cant use.
