So I got some seafoam for the intake (when i took the UIM off to change plug wires, there was carbon and CRAP caked 1/2" thick in both the UIM and LIM)...but i cant figure out where the vaccum lines are at...LOL! Been a mechanic the better part of a decade...and i get stumped by this?

so here are pix, please point out if you can:

And for those who are interested...old plugs (149,000 miles)vs new plugs...

What is a UIM and LIM?????? Why didn't you clean the crap while you had access to it?

You can use the PCV line or the brake booster. The PCV goes from the lifter cover to the throttle body on the left hand side. The brake booster goes from the booster to the TB and is on the right hand side. Both are visible in the first picture and the BB is bottom center of the second.

yes, UIM and LIM, upper intake and lower intake.

Yes i did clean at it...i didnt have the right stuff to do it, (a spinning wire brush for the LIM to go in and out of the tubes...so seafon will do the trick, its worked on my other cars in the past...just never used it on a j body...and havent a clue where the vaccum lines are.

TIA for any help...

Dee Dee Dee, im retarded, just reread your post Masin Tenn. Ty for your help. Ill use the PCV hose, I already replaced the valve so i know where that one is at. as far as cleaning up the intake, all i did was the upper part with a wire brush...couldnt really do much with the lower. Im gonna seafoam all of it, then take it apart again, this stuff works wonders so hopefuly it breaks the @!#$ loose so i can brush it out...wish i had some gasoline in a gas can tho, that woulda cleaned it.

take off a vaccum line, and suck it in (a split second at a time) through your car...there will be ALOT of smoke and nasty stuff coming from the exhaust.

then IMMEDIATELY change your oil, and pull your spark plugs out and clean them thoroughly. If your upper and lower intake look like mine do...you will need new plugs when your done.
