Well im curious about this product
Steel Seal. Apparently you pour it into your rad and let the car run for 30 mins and its suppose to fix bad head gaskets or cracks in the cylinder head. Has anyone ever used this stuff? I have a beater that has a blown head gasket it and i honestly dont feel like ripping into the car to replace it. Im kinda curious if this "steel seal" will work. Anyone have any feedback or thoughts?

Looking around at reports for the stuff seems to reveal the same only story: It might work, or not. They might give a refund if it doesn't. If it works, it might buy you some time, or be nearly permanent. For all the "maybes", it's worth noting that $60 or $80 is a significant amount to throw at a problem when the "proper" solution is only a few times more. The severity of the existing problem has a lot to do with the decision too. Additives don't work miracles.
That said, I've had some coolant loss problems that were sorted a a couple of these ground up in the reservoir every few months. Now I'm about a year after when I was sure I'd need a head gasket. Supposedly they don't play nice with Dexcool, but I've gone without problems so far.

exactly at the product being 70 bucks, thats a 1/3 of what a rebuild kit would cost. they do offer a full refund but you need paper work from a licensed garage and a tow truck bill. lol if my car breaks down because of this stuff and i need a tow truck to take it to the garage, im sure there is now something more wrong then just a blown gasket lol
what kind of car is your beater?
is it an easy to get to head gasket, or is it a 20+ hour monster to do?
Well I used some bars leak liquid verion on my 87 mazda pu for a leaking water pump internal and poured in ran for several days.Well after a day or so it stopped leaking and did a coolant flush about a wk after.My water pump has not leaked since like 3yrs ago.I have flushed the system since then again and still no leak.It just turned the green (normal stuff) a little brown but had zero effect on the eng,heat, cooling in general.Bars leak makes stuff for leaking cooling systems and not sure it would fix a head gasket,but damn this stuff worked for the waterpump on mine.Something to consider.

its a 95 olds cutlass supreme 3.1 motor.

that shouldnt be to bad to do, especially if you have the tool to keep the motor pulled forward, or at least heave it forward, and use the motor mounts to keep it in that position.
but i suppose it is worth a try......money back guarantee and all....
OHV motors, I would just get some gaskets, they are too easy to work on.
I only say this because for me, I might get the refund on the problem or whatever, but once it was fixed Im sure my car would have a laundry list of problems thereafter that somehow relate back to the original problem. I would just grab 1 or 2 friends, get the "el cheapo" version of the gaskets you need (whoever has them cheapest, autozone, napa, carquest, etc -- I'd put them in between layers of RTV) get some beers and git 'r' dun!
