I recently installed an (electric) oil pressure gauge in my car, but in order to get the sending unit to clear, I had to remove a bolt I believe has no purpose other than to hold on a bracket. If you know where the sending unit is installed, you should have a pretty good idea of what bolt I am talking about. If not, on the exhaust cam tower of the 2.4l, there is a small black bracket. I removed one of these bolts to gain enough clearance to tighten down my sending unit. Anyone know if there is any problem with removing this bolt?

other than a possible oil leak i dont see it being an issue...
thing is though... those bolts are so small, and with a 10mm head i dont see how one could be in your way?
failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

No oil leak from it, but I did try installing the sender without removing the bolt. I couldn't tighten down the sending unit enough and oil would seep out. So I removed the bolt, installed the sender, and haven't seemed to have a problem. I just wanted to double check.
