Ok my winter beater is a 1996 Cavalier Z24 autotragic w/ a 160k miles, as of the last couple weeks its been throwing the p0171 system too lean bank one code and the crank postion sensor code, i put a new crank and cam sensor in yesterday and now it is only throwin the "lean code" , the symtoms are the car will crank and not fire when hot, if it does start it runs very rough and/or stalls out, i have to floor the gas pedal to try and keep it running while doing so the car hesitates severely and doesnt want to go through the rpms at all. it also sounds as if it is backfiring while i hold the pedal down. what could cause this the o2 sensors? what else? I hate for my first post to be like this but no one seems to know what it could be.
thanks in advance,
greg
could be an o2 sensor... but with it running to lean it could be a number of things...
sorry i couldnt be of more help... just thought id try..
