What could it be Fuel Pump or ECU?

Well 1 check to hear with the key on (not starting ) if the fuel pump sound is there.2 is ur fuel filter old? if so u may want to change it out,if it is being if it is clogged it would be causing the no fuel scenario.I would not think the ecu right off bat.Worst case u would have to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump and just to see if the ecu is not in the picture spray some ether start(starting fluid) straight into the throttle body while some one is trying to start it up and if it fires and runs briefly then the pump is prolly toast.That is my best suggestion to offer unless someone else knows something I do not even tho I am a first gen guy,the symptoms are pretty much similar for the no start with all three gens unless a sensor goes or otherwise.OK

Yeah its my friends car he says he just replaced the fuel filter he was thinking the ECU for what reason i do not know why. he called me and i told him the fuel pump most likely cause my car did the same thing back in 2004.
