ok i just bought a 99 z24 and for some reason after driving a while i cant shift anymore and if i go and loosen the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder and let out a little pressure it work fine for a while and act up again. i was told it didnt start doing this until a new clutch was put in after the old one was slipping. the flywheel was resurfaced and everything was replaced including the slave and then when this problem arrived the master cylinder was replaced and still didnt fix it. is it posible to put a 2.2l clutch kit on a 2.4l? and if so could that be the problem? also the lines that come off of the slave cylinder have move around alot if you wiggle them. is that normal? or should they be more stable? any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated thanx vinnie.
U are having no pressure in the slave pedal? Could have amount of air in slave, The slave cyl could just be defective. Only thing is what the other owner really got done to the first clutch install, Sometimes they just get certain wornout parts replaced if they are just dumping the car for a quick sale. I would start off first replacing the slave cyl if it wont bleed, The if nothing happens Indeed might need to remove the trans for clutch inspection.
Good Luck.
well the only prob with that is you have to pull the trans to replace the slave. but it feels like there is pressure in the clutch though. i think it may have actually gotten a little harder in the pedal when it started messing up again.
