i have just pulled my trans down to check out a problem i had with the slave cylinder. does anyone know how much play should there be when you slide the slave all the way onto the input shaft??? when this one is on there it moves around alot. and when the trans was intastalled and when you would try to bleed the clutch the lines moved around alot. since this is my first j body i didnt know if this was normal. is it???

i also noticed the pin that goes through the set hole on the slave is much smaller than the hole but i am not sure if this is what is causing the play.

the original problem was that after a little driving probably 100miles or so the pedal would get a little harder than normal and would no longer be able to select any gears. then if you open the bleeder and let some pressure off it would work for another 100 miles. this was supposedly a new clutch and appears to be true but i am going to change the pressure plate, clutch , and slave. the new parts should arrive in a day or two. i was told this problem arrived with the new clutch install and then had a master cyl. put in and the problem still didnt go away. i have a reciept for the master install.

any info about the slave or the original problem would be very helpful and appreciated thank you.
