So, I've been having issues with my 99 GT Fire for the last month or so. Exhaust is shot. I have a new one on order, but it won't get here until next Tuesday. So I've got it jerry-rigged for now to keep it semi-quiet. It's had the CEL on since I bought it (no cat). Since I got to Vegas, it's been progressively gotten worse. The alternator is starting to go on me, I've got a front strut that is completely FUBAR, and now, it doesn't seem to want to idle. It's idling at the point just before it dies, and the oil light illuminates. So long as it's above 600 RPM, it's fine, once it gets to 600-500, oil light comes on, and it just barely runs.
I'm thinking maybe the alternator isn't kicking enough juice to the ICM, or that there is another issue in the ignition. If it's the exhaust, I can't do anything about that until the new one gets here. Is there anything else I can test to find out what's wrong?

Have u checked how many volts with youre battery?. Also have u checked to see if youre alternator is allow enough volts to keep the battery charged. Thast would be the first thing I would check first.
Good Luck.
I think I have it figured out. It's running at a really high idle in the morning. In the 2000-2200 RPM range. After it warms up, it drops to the 800-600 or lower range. I'm thinking the O2 sensor is getting bad info because there isn't a Cat on it. Looks like I have to wait for the FedEx guy to bring me my new one.
