Moisture in Headlight Housing

Hi Everyone,

Have an issue with moisture in the headlight housing - fogs up the left front lens - a friend has a similar problem with his Grand Prix. Has anyone experienced this problem? and if so - any suggestions on a solution - or the best replacement parts?

Thanks,

JF

Ive got the same problem with my cavalier, Left driver side head lamp lens is fogged, I know why might is like that. I had from end damage to my car, It looked that the lights and everything ever fine, I guess not, The 2 mating plastic pieces that go together must have a hair line crack in the seam on the lense. In which allow moisture to the lense, Cheap enough auto wreckers sell them cheap. Myself I wouldnt drill a hole onto the lense its only temp solution, Once u get moisture it stains then plastic lense, It wont come clean. By buffing it will, Time wasted.

Good Luck.

A couple of 3/16" holes on the bottom of the housing (not in the lens) may do the trick after a few days, but like Rich says - don't expect it to look "right" again afterwards.
If you don't need to drive the car for a day, try pulling the bulb out and let it air out in the sun (if it's not too cold to be effective). For the amount of work to get at it, you may want to just replace it with another good used unit anyway. There's likely a crack somewhere letting the moisture in, so it will just come back shortly.

usually its a bad seal that makes headlights corner lights tail lights fog. so holes probably wouldnt help. junkyard. or ebay sells individual headlights cheap
