While driving, I accelerated and as soon as I did, the car reved and there was very little acceleration. The exhaust became louder and it hardly accelerates at all. There is a sucking/blowing sound on the right side of the engine that is not the cold air intake. The car idles rough and feels like it is about to stall out. It smells like gasoline also. anyone have any ideas where to begin? Its an 02 Cavalier base coupe.
Check the vacuum line near the firewall.
Thats what it sounds like to me.
I see on the left side of the TB, and lower that the TB, that there is a 90 degree elbow that enters the firewall. There is no hose attached to it. It is in the center of he car and at arms length down.
The check engine light and Trac off light came on as soon as it happened.
if there isn't a hose attached at that 90 you are talking about...that is your problem right there.
The chevy dealer said that 2 and 3 coils are bad. Half the engine shut down.
I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy, but it wouldn't start unless, I smear a little bit of gas on the top, plus the mile gauge will trip, and turn back to zero after every trip My scanner is giving me error code 102, but I can't find the problem.
