Got pretty cold last night and this morning the car wouldn't start. Thought the battery was dead, had someone jump it and still wouldn't start. Just turns over and over, but won't start doesn't even sputter, just turns over.
Ideas?
2000, 2.4, 5 speed.
Maybe some ice in the fuel lines. Shove or drag the car someplace warm, and see if it wants to run after thawing. Get some fuel de-icer.

i don't know. Plugged in for a couple hours then had a friend come over to try jumping it and when I turned the key nothing happenend. Nothing at all, the radio wouldn't even turn on.
It ran fine all day long yesterday. The only thing that has changed was Saturday I had my oil changed and they were out of 5w-30, so they used 10w-30, Mobil 1. This shouldn't affect anything should it?
Thanks
After i charged the batt on my truck when i turned the key nothing would happen, turned out there was allot of corrosin (sp) on the + side terminal.
There is no corrosion on the battery posts. The battery is almost brand new.
Mine did the exact same thing two days ago and it was the positive battery post connector. I didn't think it was the post either.
remove post, clean it, reconnect and try to start the car. it worked for mine and it could work for you.
Sounds good.
I took the batteryout and have it in the house charging and the car plugged in so we will see how it goes in the morning.
If you have under 1/4 tank of gas, you may have ice in your lines.
Thats what I am starting to think.
About to head out and try and get it going.

Thanks
if the radio wouldn't even turn on, no lights on the dash, doesn't crank, no ding ding sound then is not a fuel problem. is an electrical problem. so I'm still thinking battery posts
Yeah, it was a little. The post came loose during the jumping. I tightend that up and it solved that problem. I gave up trying to work on it when its below zero, and had it towed to a shop. They say it had no spark and are thinking ICM or coil pack. Waiting for them to call tomorrow.
