I was driving down the highway when my car started to act up and lose power when i gave it gas to hard (little more than 1/4 throttle) I got caught by a red light almost instantly so i was forced to stop and when i tryed to go the car died but sitting ther at the light the "trac off" light came on. If anyone has encountered this problem i would appreciate any positive input.
thanx
it is comonnly the alt. that will do that
i thought the same but wouldn't the battery be dead also im thinking the fuel pump and that b**** is not very cheap.

I think a fuel pump is not going to make the trac off light come on. if it was a fuel pump problem, your car would just die automatically.
your car died little by little right?
it could be that after your alternator runs for a while, it simply stops charging the battery or
it could be that your battery doesn't want to stay charged or
it could be a bad battery connector post or
it could be a lose connection on the alternator.
That is all I can think of right now.
Advance Auto parts can charge your battery and after is charged, they can re-test the voltage to check if it holds the juice
Yea it cut out on me and when it died i tried to crank it up and it turned over but didn't start it acted like it wanted to start and after a few more times it seemed like i drained the fuel lines.
when you turn the ignition on, does the fuel pump makes that buzzing sound. MMMMMMMMM and stops?
No it don't and i swapped the a/c relay with the fuel pump and it still didn't work so i poured a lil gas in the throttle body and it started up for a minute. I guess the traction light came on be cause it died, thats the only thing that I can figure but I changed the pump ($273.74) and it works fine now.
