96 cav 2.2...stalls out once it warms up

Ok, long story short, I bought back my old 96 cav from a guy I work with since he couldn't figure out what is wrong and the shop he went to said it was the timing gear and chains....they should be replaced but that's not the problem.

The car starts up cold just fine with no issues and it drives fine until the temp gauge needle rises up about 30* from its resting point (probably close to 100* engine temp if I had to guess). Anyway, once it gets to this point, the car keeps on wanting to die out and it starts to spit and sputter when giving it gas to try and keep it from stalling.

He says he replaced a new o2 sensor up front which I can see he did. The rear o2 sensor has been completely disconnected, but that would not cause an issue like this. The only things I can think of is it has to be electrical, but where and what I'm not too sure. Ideally it would seem as the o2 sensor is the culprit since it appears once the engine goes into open loop, that's when she dies out due to false signals from the o2 sensor. How could I deem if the ECU is bad?

I'm not too sure, just looking for some help and different view points. If anyone has anything, by all means let me know what you are thinking!

Check the intake air temperature sensor. The sensor could be telling the PCM that the intake air is cold, and its adding more fuel.
